Harry Potter Quilt

I have actually finished this quilt and given it to Kayleigh (before she reached 16.5 even!). I will post a picture of the completed quilt, but here it is before quilting. Thanks to our wonderful Jennifer and her guest designers for the patterns!

I embroidered favorite quotes from the books around the inner border.

Thanks to Amy for hosting the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

What a terrific HP quilt- that colorful border pulls it all together. Isn't it fun to add words to quilts-I love wordplay.

Thank you for all of the comments! My daughter is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and loves the quilt. I finished reading the series to my 10 year old daughter and we had fun pointing out the blocks and quotes trying to remember what came from what book. I thought I was going to have to make another, but she is wanting for me to make her a Laura Ingalls Wilder quilt for her 16th birthday. Humm....wonder what I'll do? :)

Hello, as you can tell by my name I'm here to talk about a Harry Potter quilt. I'm a guy and don't know anything about quilting, though I should cause Albus Dumbledore was a fan of knitting, so I am here to try and find a couple of quilt styles/paterns to fit my decor of my movie room. I've always wanted a nice 3-4 person sized (so really big king size) with a patern of Harry's first arrival to Hogwartz castle when the boats are being drawn across Black Lake and they look up to see the castle. I wouldn't mind a classic panel patern quilt but maybe if the panels were more of an adult picture theme instead of a what I think is a kid's room theme like the one shown on this site. Another one I've dreamed of having was a giant marauders map quilt. Does anyone have any idea where I could get my hands on such things or if I'd have to learn to make them myself? If anyone knows of someone who could help me please let me know the info! Thanks!
