Vintage Baby

Today we got to take a glimpse of the past when Clydene Gage brought in her adorable baby quilt. Clydene took these beautiful hand stitched 1930's blocks that her husbands grandmother made and put them into this adorable quilt for their grand baby on the way.  What a beautiful way to pass on the family heritage.  Thank you Clydene for sharing those memories with us.

Lots of Beautiful Quilts

Today was a day to see some spectacular quilts and I just had to share them with you.  These ladies worked very hard on their quilts and gave them to Angela McCorkle to add her fabulous quilting to make them come to life and Angela delivered.  These quilts are works of art and the quilting just enhances their beauty.  Scroll down and see what they put together.

This is a Carpenter Star made by Sue Phillips, the colors are so pretty and I loved the frogs in the borders.

Look at the precious tulips, warms me up just looking at it.

This is Sue's 2012 5 @ The Hive quilt.  Just stunning!

Sara "Nana" Worley made this adorable Navy quilt for her grandson Hayden

Kitty Miller made this hand embroidered quilt from the Crabapple Hill Pattern "Over the River"

After Market Bash!

Our BIG market bash was last Wednesday and can we just say it was CRAZY FUN!  We had such a wonderful time talking about all the neat stuff we found at market and all the fun new stuff that is making its way to Honey Bees.  Thank you to all our wonderful customers for making this night so spectacular!

We started the night with a massage therapist giving hand massages and talking about the new Sewline Cuticle Oil.  This was a  huge hit and the cuticle oil feels great, this would make a perfect gift for anyone.

Here is Dianne Demoing the new Creative Grid Hexagon Trim Tool. Hexagons are all the rage now and this fun little tool makes them so much easier.

Oh did I say we had prizes?  Yes, yes I did.  We had a whole basket full of prizes for our wonderful customers.  Fat quarter bundles, treat squares, patterns oh my!

Here is our Sweet Ann Marie showing us the new Stella Light and The Light Panel.  I loved how the Light Panel made it so much easier to see what you were tracing and how it was thin and not bulky.  The Stella light was way awesome with the touch lighting and the different shades of lighting.

Looky we have a Winner!  Winner winner chicken dinner!  Congrats!

Sweet Stitches Block of the Month

Last year we went to Quilt Market to search for fun and amazing new projects to promote in our store and as usual market did not disappoint us.  We found so many great patterns, books and block of the months that we were excited to take them home and start them right away.  One that we started was "Sweet Stitches" by Kathy Schmitz, a cute embroidery block of the month.  Sweet Stitches was well received here at Honey Bee and it makes me so happy when out customers bring in their projects to show us what they have done and what little changes they may have done to make the project their own.

Today was no exception.  Ramona Griffin came in to show me what she had done with her December and January blocks and they were so cute.  On the December block she added a cute little fringe to the toy snowman and on the January block she added buttons and made the banner free flowing.  I just loved the small little changes Ramona made and how she personalized it to fit her style. Take a look at what she did!

I Love Show-n-Tells!

I just love when customers come in and show us what they have been up too.  From fabric selections to the choice of the patterns, the whole process gets the creative juices flowing and when these talented quilters come in to show them off you can't help but get inspired.  Check out these fabulous quilts and see for yourself  the talent these ladies have.

Gloria came in the store and fell in love with the Christmas cowboy boot fabric and knew she had to make something out of it.  She had Judy help her pick out a couple of fabrics and from there she mad this fantastic Boot Scootin' Christmas Quilt.

This is Sue Carter's Stained Glass French Braid Quilt from Nancie's class.  I just love the look of the batiks she selected for this quilt, it really does look like stained glass.

Sue Carter has been very busy making a whole bunch of awesome quilts.  This is Shakespeare in the Park from Nancie's Block Workshop.  Sue says she still wants to put borders on but I think it's already perfect!  Thanks for sharing Sue!
