Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

From the Ferguson family to you....thank you for another great year! We appreciate your business, friendship, sharing, creativity....I could go on and on. Quilters are the most wonderful people and we feel so blessed to be a part of this community. I hope all of your projects are done and wrapped (I am almost there!) and that you take some time to enjoy your family and all that this season has to offer. We look forward to seeing you in 2010!

1 Million Pillowcases!

American Patchwork & Quilting is sponsoring the 1 Million Pillowcases challenge. Honey Bee is participating. Here is Karen with the 4 cases she brought in today. The pillowcases turned in to Honey Bee will be donated to the Texas Baptist Children's Home. They are all excited about it! And so are we!

We are hosting a demo at noon on Friday to teach the "hotdog" method of pillow case making. Fun and fast! (The make excellent Christmas presents as well!)

A Visitor from Down Under

This is Cat (Catherine) Magraith (known online as hardhatcat) and she's from Adelaide, South Australia. She's a quilter and paper pieced designer in addition to her being a civil engineer. She was here to visit Jennifer (our paper piecing teacher and friend) and have an American quilting experience. We were so happy to get to know her at Honey Bee! She and Jennifer also hit the Austin & Chisholm Trail guilds, visited Jennifer's bee and shopped at numerous local craft and quilt stores. Cat's free patterns can be found on the Guest Designer page of www.sewhooked.org and she has patterns for sale on etsy. She flew back home today with memories, fabric and yarn (she is also WONDERFUL knitter), leaving behind old and new friends who are trying to figure out how we can get to Australia!

My Little Designer

Honey Bee was very sparkly on Friday, Oct. 30. We were sewing Christie's Halloween costume, because I let someone borrow my home machine. (Its amazing how much you use that home machine when you don't even realize it - hemming jeans, sewing on Girl Scout badges, etc!) Christie designed her costume and called it "Sparkly Death". I think the death part was to appease her brother whose sole goal in life is to toughen his sister up!

Halloween Cupcakes

Greg and Christie made these - they were soooo cute! Click for the recipe!
