Grand Prize Winner

Here is Ray picking up his prize!

Happy Birthday?

Lordy, lordy, looks who's forty! Dianne! No, wait, she's fifty! (she looks forty to us).
In honor of her birthday we made her Princess for the day! Doesn't she look lovely in her tiara?!!

The talented ladies at Honey Bee made two blocks each from Dianne's favorite fabric line, Fig Tree, then we put the squares together and presented her with her birthday quilt!

Our lovely Kerri made Dianne a big star quilt using her left over Fig Tree fabric. A star for a star!!

More party people, Dianne's sister Debra and her daughter Megan and grand-daughter, Lenzi.

Aunti Di with a real princess, great niece, Lenzi.

Here we all are, friends/customers, enjoying birthday cake. Good time was had by all!!!

Honey Bee's Version of the Shop Hop Quilt

Here is our setting for the Shop Hop Quilt. We love row quilts, but wanted a smaller version, so we just set our rows diagnally. The peach in the orchard block was overwhelming when we put it in the quilts, so we moved that block to the cornerstones of the border and trimed it down to 6 1/5 inches.

Osie created a paper pieced version of the blue bonnet, which we gave to Ronna at Ready to Sew. She handed out that version, so hopefully that will make things a bit easier! Its a very pretty blocks - just lots of templates!

Our quilt we be donated to the Breast Cancer Resource Center for their annual silent auction fund raiser, after I add a label that tells the story that went with the pattern!

Lone Star Quilt Show

Judy Shani's quilt was my kid's favorite. It makes you happy to look just looking at her colors - California Quilters quilted Judy's beautiful Lone Star.

The most elegant of the show - Karen Mappin's Lone Star was quilted by Leslie Sparks. The colors and simplicity of her setting were breathtaking - Karen is going to Africa soon with the Peace Corps - I wonder if she needs someone to take care of this quilt? Can you just see this against a taupe colored wall?

Kathy Smith's beautiful traditional Lone Star is machine and hand quilted. Her choices of vibrant reds and blues enhanced the burst of the Lone Star.

Lila Ludeman pieced and is in the process of hand quilting this Lone Star. We loved how it looked against our red wall!

Gwen Williams pieced this award winning quilt (winner at the Austin Quilt Show)- her choices of fabrics and the setting were a highlight of the Lone Star Show. Quilting by Castle Path Quilting.

Theresa Schwarzlose made us yearn for fall with this Lone Star. We heard so many positive comments about her choices of vibrant fall colors.

We were able to watch this quilt come to be as Maureen Sheevel worked out the design she wanted with graph paper. Mareen's quilt was a much deserved winner in last fall's Austin Quilt Show. The quilting was done by Castle Path Quilting.

Debby Eades pieced and quilted this colorful cheerful and wonderful Lone Star! The colors take us to a Carribean paradise and she used one of our favorite fabrics in her border!

A real crowd favorite, Patty Marcum's quilt was made from a kit that came from Quilts By the Bay. Quilting by Castle Path Quilting in Round Rock.

Shirley Gentry's quilt was one of the shop's favorites. We loved her color choices - the blues just glowed. The quilting by Diana Beau Bien was perfect and made the background leaves look like they were swirling.
